Valencia Ray, “The Confidence Doc”, is principal and founder of Core Confidence Coaching a subsidiary of Valencia Ray LLC. She is a certified coach, specializing in “Mindset” as it relates to integrative empowerment – spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. She is a former eye surgeon who now shows women entrepreneurs and professionals how to eliminate blind spots that are limiting their vision for business success, healthy relationships and good health. She is the author of “Empower Up and Play Big: Winning at Life from the Inside Out!” as well as an inspiring presenter and facilitator. She has a diverse science and medical background with formal training and education in the areas of psychology and psychiatry. She received her MD from the University of Illinois and her surgical residency (Ophthalmology) training at the University of Chicago.

Women have the power to change the world – if only we would embrace our personal power and leadership potential. For so many of us, self-limiting mind-sets get in our way. Whether from early life experiences, media images of appropriate roles and behaviors for men versus women, or examples of powerful leaders we see around us, many women have developed “cataracts of the soul” that results in blind spots in their mind, literally preventing them from “seeing” their own power and potential. Through sharing wide-ranging insights derived from diverse fields of study and experience spanning brain science to global leadership research, we will explore the origins of these blind spots, why and how they persist, and how to overcome them to unleash our personal power to lead positive change for ourselves and our world.
